The successful start for the Hortus Medicus pilot training in therapeutic horticulture

The Hortus Medicus pilot training was launched on April 19th in Gödöllő with the first module: Basics of Therapeutic Horticulture.

We were very pleased with the high interest on the topic of therapeutic horticulture and to receive plenty of applications from social workers, farmers, teachers etc. From more than 60 applicants, 19 participants were chosen to attend this free of charge training considering diversity, gender and motivations. Participants came from different backgrounds and can learn a lot also from each other during the training.

The first face-to-face training day was preceded by e-learning materials to prepare participants. In general, the feedback from the participants was positive and found the training interesting and useful, especially the group work and practical experiences.

We are looking forward to continuing the training, addressing the different elements of therapeutic horticulture. The 128- hour pilot training will continue in May with the topic of Botany and Garden Maintenance. The whole training ends in September 2024.
